Helping Couples Grow Together

"We get together on the basis of our similarities; We grow on the basis of our differences"

– Virginia Satir

Are you feeling stuck?

Do you want more from your relationship but don’t know how to get there? While it’s normal for couples to struggle from time to time, if your struggles are intense and persistent it can be hard to find a way forward without outside help.

We work together as a co-therapy team to help couples learn how to create more of what you want in your relationship: more harmony, more connection, more clarity about how to be part of a committed partnership without losing yourself in the process.

Are You Fighting Too Much or Avoiding Conflict Altogether?

Dealing with differences in values, preferences, and desires can be one of the most challenging things about being a couple. While healthy conflict can be an important part of a vibrant relationship, too often couples find themselves stuck in unhealthy patterns of escalating conflict or avoiding important issues for fear that it will only make things worse.

If you’re having a hard time with conflict, we can help you discover how you’re getting yourselves stuck and how you can become allies in moving beyond destructive fighting or avoidance. We can help you uncover the deep yearnings that so often underlie persistent conflict. And we can help you learn how to navigate your differences with compassion and respect for yourselves and each other.

Are You Feeling Distant or Disconnected?

Most couples experience a natural ebb and flow in how close or distant they feel from each other. But if distance and disconnection become an everyday experience, the pain can become so great that partners “numb out” or wonder if they should stay together.

If you and your partner are feeling more distant than you’d like, we can help you figure out how you’ve come to be where you are and explore ways to bring more connection and life to your relationship. If – as is often the case – your distance is the result of living with one or more important issues that have been swept under the rug, we’ll help you identify and address these in a way that can increase the intimacy in your relationship.
